Rejected, no feedback

One of the best hiring processes I have experienced in nearly two decades in enterprise software. The recruiter was exceptionally responsive and transparent: he relayed the team's questions, walked me through every next step, and kept the timeline clear throughout. The one interview, a 45-minute video call with a team lead, was professional but impersonal; the interviewer took notes the whole time and made little eye contact. I was not selected, but the rejection arrived quickly, was gracious, and included a genuine invitation to re-apply. Months later I flagged a similar opening and the recruiter forwarded my profile to the hiring manager within hours. A rejection handled with this much respect is rare.

Tip for candidates

If a recruiter invites you to re-apply, take them up on it. A great one will actually forward your profile to the hiring team, even months later.
